Infrared Cameras
Infrared Cameras – Fixed-Mount Thermal Imaging for Industrial Temperature Measurement
Infrared cameras, also known as thermal imaging cameras, measure surface temperature without contact by detecting the infrared energy an object emits. IOThrifty offers a range of fixed-mount industrial infrared cameras built for continuous process monitoring, condition monitoring, and automation, where reliable, real-time temperature data is essential.
Why Use Infrared Cameras
Unlike handheld imagers used for spot checks, fixed-mount infrared cameras install permanently to watch a zone around the clock. They capture an entire thermal image rather than a single point, automatically find and track the hottest spot in the scene, and output temperature values and alarms directly to a PLC or control system. Many models operate autonomously without a dedicated PC and integrate over Ethernet, PoE, and industrial protocols such as EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, and Modbus TCP. With options spanning long-wave models for general surfaces through short-wave and mid-wave cameras for hot metals and through-flame measurement, there is a camera matched to nearly any temperature range and material.
Applications
Industrial infrared cameras are used wherever continuous, non-contact temperature measurement protects equipment, quality, or safety.
-
Electrical and mechanical condition monitoring and predictive maintenance of cabinets, switchgear, motors, and bearings
-
Early fire and hotspot detection across material-handling lines, conveyors, and storage areas
-
Process control and quality assurance in plastics, electronics, food, and general manufacturing
-
High-temperature measurement of molten metal, forging, casting, and through-flame monitoring inside furnaces and kilns
-
OEM integration into machinery and automated production systems
If you need single-point temperature measurement rather than full thermal imaging, explore our infrared thermometers and pyrometers for fixed and portable spot solutions. For the highest temperatures and reflective, low-emissivity metals, see our high-temperature and metal thermal cameras optimized for short-wavelength measurement. Our thermal cameras are the Optris Xi series. For more information on how to choose the right Xi Series camera for your application, check out our Xi Series guide.
