The BXC-15 is a low-temperature blackbody calibrator that produces a precise, uniform, known-temperature reference surface for calibrating and verifying infrared thermometers and thermal imaging cameras. It covers a wide span from -15 °C up to 120 °C (5 °F to 248 °F), making it well suited to the near-ambient and below-ambient measurements that matter most in everyday industrial, environmental, and process applications.
Calibrates Below Ambient
Most blackbody sources only heat, so they start at or above room temperature and cannot verify a device anywhere near the cold end of its range. The BXC-15 cools as well as heats, reaching down to -15 °C. That lets you calibrate and check infrared instruments across the full near-ambient window, including the sub-zero temperatures found in refrigeration, cold-chain monitoring, HVAC, and outdoor and building diagnostics, as well as the room-temperature and body-temperature ranges used in screening and laboratory work.
A Large, High-Emissivity Target
The 83 x 83 mm (3.26") target area is large enough to comfortably fill the field of view of most infrared thermometers and thermal cameras, which is essential for an accurate reading. With a fixed emissivity of 0.95, the surface behaves as a dependable, repeatable reference so you can trust the number your device reports against it.
Accurate and Stable
The BXC-15 delivers accuracy of ±0.40 °C from -15 to 0 °C, ±0.50 °C from 0 to 100 °C, and ±0.55 °C from 100 to 120 °C, with stability held to ±0.1 °C at 100 °C. Setpoints can be dialed in with 0.01 °C / °F resolution, giving you the fine control required for demanding calibration and verification work.
Modern Interface and Connectivity
A TFT color display with a capacitive touchscreen makes the calibrator quick and intuitive to operate, with clear readout of the current and target temperatures. An integrated Ethernet network interface allows the BXC-15 to be monitored and controlled remotely and folded into automated calibration routines, so it fits just as naturally into a networked calibration lab as it does on a benchtop.
Portable When You Need It
While it is a substantial, capable instrument, the BXC-15 is built to be transported, so you can bring the reference to the equipment rather than always bringing the equipment to the lab. That makes it practical for on-site verification and field calibration as well as permanent bench use.
