- Up to 100 Mbit/s Ethernet via RJ45 or Industrial M12 (D-Coded) Connector
- Rugged IP65 / NEMA 4 Die-Cast Housing
- Ships Complete with Connectors, Cable, and Software
This interface kit connects your autonomous Xi series infrared camera to an EtherNet/IP network - the most widely adopted industrial protocol in the United States and the standard for Allen-Bradley / Rockwell PLC environments. It lets the camera stream live temperature data directly to PLCs, controllers, and data-acquisition systems over standard Ethernet, so thermal measurement integrates cleanly into factory, hybrid, and process automation. The same kit also works with CSVision pyrometers.
Built for Allen-Bradley / Rockwell Automation
EtherNet/IP is ODVA-approved and the de facto standard across North American industrial automation, especially Allen-Bradley / Rockwell controllers. The kit ships with EDS files and full documentation, so it drops into your PLC programming software as a recognized module - install the EDS file, select the module type, and the camera appears on the network. The interface is an ODVA adapter-class device (device type 06h).
Connectivity and Configuration
The module communicates over 10/100 Base-T Ethernet at up to 100 Mbit/s with auto-negotiation, using a standard RJ45 connector or a rugged 4-pin M12 (D-coded) industrial connector. It ships in DHCP mode out of the box, and a free address-commissioning tool lets you switch to a static IP when needed. Multiple devices can share the same network, each with its own IP address in the same subnet. Network settings are stored on the interface board itself, so they are retained even if the connected camera is swapped.
Built for the Plant Floor
Housed in a rugged die-cast zinc enclosure rated IP65 / NEMA 4, the interface withstands dust, vibration, and shock in demanding industrial settings. It operates from 0 to 85 °C on a 5-30 VDC supply and draws less than 0.7 W, adding negligible load to your power budget.
What Is in the Box
The kit ships complete: the IP65 interface box with an M12 connector and 25 cm cable, an M12 4-pin connector, a 20 cm extension cable with an RJ45 socket and M12 connector, and a USB stick containing the software, EDS file, and manual, plus a quick-reference guide.
What You Will Need
The Xi camera connects to the interface box via its standard process interface (I/O / RS485) cable in the appropriate length. In the software, set the camera to Digital PIF mode at 115.2 kBaud with bus address 0, then wire it to the interface board following the color coding on the board. (If you are using a CSVision pyrometer instead, it connects via its sensor cable.)
