The MK-L1 Thermal Dispersion Flow Switch provides accurate, repeatable flow detection for liquids and gases using a solid-state thermal principle. Inside the sealed stainless probe, two resistors are embedded, one heated sensing element and one unheated reference. As the medium flows past, heat is carried away from the sensing element, and the resulting temperature difference between the two is used to precisely determine flow velocity. This proven principle allows for highly stable, drift-free switching with no moving components to wear out.

Works Across Multiple Mediums
Engineered for gas-liquid dual use, the MK-L1 can monitor water, oil, air, lubricants, and other process fluids. It is ideal for verifying coolant flow in data centers, detecting air movement in HVAC or pneumatic systems, or safeguarding pumps in chemical and manufacturing lines. This versatility makes it a practical choice for any operation where flow confirmation or loss detection is critical.

No Moving Parts, Maintenance-Free
Unlike paddlewheel or turbine sensors, thermal dispersion switches contain no moving parts. This design eliminates mechanical wear, debris buildup, and clogging, reducing downtime and extending sensor lifespan. The result is a reliable, maintenance-free instrument that delivers consistent performance even in contaminated or viscous media.

Easy Setpoint Adjustment
The MK-L1’s setpoint point is easily adjusted using a screwdriver-operated potentiometer on the sensor housing. Simply power on, observe the LED flow trend display, and set the trigger point to match your desired flow threshold. This flexibility makes it easy to adapt the sensor to a variety of system conditions without requiring recalibration or additional electronics.

Low Flow Interference
The MK-L1 uses a low-profile probe design that minimally interferes with the flow, producing virtually no pressure loss. This reduces overall system impact while delivering reliable flow detection across a wide range of pipe sizes and velocities.

Flexible Output and Installation
The relay output means the MK-L1 integrates easily with PLCs, control panels, and alarm systems. Its IP67-rated body and M12 connector simplify wiring and allow reliable use in both wet and dusty environments. Installation is fast and flexible, mount it horizontally, at an elbow, or from the side using the supplied fittings and thread options.

Durable and Reliable Design
Operating from -20°C to 80°C and rated for pressures up to 10 bar, the MK-L1 is built to handle demanding industrial and process conditions. Its LED bar display provides immediate visual confirmation of flow trend and switching status. Combined with rugged stainless steel construction and aerospace-grade electronics, it delivers the reliability and performance engineers expect from a long-lasting flow protection device.
