The N1200 process controller was designed for high performance control in the most demanding applications. Its advanced and consolidated Auto-Adaptive PID algorithm ensures fast and highly accurate response in very dynamic processes with complex profiles. N1200 has the fastest sampling rate among competitors, which allows the PID control to actuate with great responsiveness ensuring the correct process dynamics.
Both electronic robustness and anti-flame material enclosure comply with the world-class approvals for industrial devices.

Advanced configuration of all parameters and fine tuning can be easily and quickly achieved via the USB port by using the free-of-charge NOVUS configuration software. Besides the standard parameters settings, N1200 also performs customized ramp and soak temperature profiles by programming up to 20 user-configured recipes or up to 180 segments.

Configuration can be performed either directly on the controller or via the USB interface via the free downloadable QuickTune  or NConfig software. Once connected to USB, the device will be recognized as a serial communication (COM) port operating with Modbus RTU protocol.

Universal Input
The N1200 supports a wide range of thermocouple temperature sensors.  Thermocouples supported are J, K, T, N, R, S, B, and E calibration. Pt100 RTD sensors are also supported as well as voltage and current process signals including  0-20 mA, 4-20 mA, 0-50 mV, 0-5 Vdc, 0-10 Vdc.

Ramp and Soak
This feature allows the creation of Ramp and Soak Setpoint Profiles (Programs). Up to 20 different profiles with 9 segments each can be programmed. Longer profiles of up to 180 segments can be created by linking 2 or more profiles together.

Soft Start
The soft-start feature avoids abrupt variations in the power delivered to the load regardless of the system power demand. This is accomplished by defining a limiting ramp for the control output. The output is allowed to reach maximum value (100 %) only after the time programmed in the soft-start parameter has elapsed. The Soft-start function is generally used in processes that require slow start-up, where the instantaneous application of 100 % of the available power to the load may cause damages to parts of the system.

Analog Retransmission of Setpoint or Process Variable
The analog output, when not used for control purposes, is available for retransmitting the PV and SP values in 0-20 or 4-20 mA. This analog output is electrically isolated from other inputs and outputs.

Remote Setpoint
The N1200 has a remote setpoint feature which allows it to accept an external 0-20 mA or 4-20 mA from another device such as a PLC or computer which can be used to remotely change the N1200's setpoint.

Square Root Extraction
With this feature enabled the controller will display and control a value that corresponds to the square root of the applied input signal. This feature is only available for the  0-20 mA, 4-20 mA, 0-50 mV, 0-5 V and 0-10 V input signals.

Optional RS485 Communications
The N1200 can be ordered with optional RS485 Modbus RTU communications.  This allows the controller to be connected to a digital network as part of a SCADA system.

Software

We offer two free downloadable software programs for the N1200

QuickTune is a free software tool for parameter configuration of NOVUS controllers and indicators. With its clean interface, any lay or advanced user can friendly access and modify all device functions for proper configuration. Designed for easy and quick commissioning, it provides diagnosis and monitoring resources to field technicians. More than a software, QuickTune is a tool. Furthermore, QuickTune offers the main features to meet most users and profile needs in the industry.

FieldChart-Lite is a free software used for monitor and register data acquired from NOVUS products. It generates real time trends and data lists that can be exported in usable formats like a spread sheet. There are two versions available: FieldChart-Lite supports 8 channels.  You can also upgrade to FieldChart which supports 64 channels for an additional fee.
