The N2000 is an extraordinarily versatile process controller. It contains in one single instrument all of the features needed for the vast majority of industrial processes. It accepts virtually all industrial sensors and signals and provides output types required for the control of many diverse processes.

From very simple applications as a temperature controller to the most complex systems of distributed control with PLC’s or SCADA networks, the N2000 is the right answer for your industrial or laboratory automation needs.

Universal Input
The N2000 can accept most process sensors and signals. It works with thermocouples (J, K, T, E, N, R, S and B), RTDs (PT100)

Up to Seven Outputs
The N2000 has can have up to seven outputs.  These include four relay outputs (2 SPST and a SPST), two logic pulse outputs for SSR drive and one analog output which can be used for control or retransmission of the process reading or setpoint. The logic pulse outputs are dual function and may be used as inputs rather than outputs. As inputs they are used in the application of a remote setpoint.

Auto-tune PID Control
You can either set the PID parameters yourself or let the N2000 self configure the parameters by using the Auto-Tune mode. You can also manually set the output.  When switching from manual to automatic control "BUMPLESS" transfer occurs which provides a smooth transition of the output when switching modes.

Remote Setpoint
The controller can have its setpoint value defined by an analog, remotely generated signal. The remote setpoint input signals can be 0-20 mA, 4-20 mA, 0-5 V and 0-10 V.

Analog Retransmission of Process Reading and Setpoint
The analog output, when not used for control purposes, is available for retransmitting the the process reading and setpoint values in 0-20 or 4-20 mA.  This analog output is electrically isolated from other inputs and outputs.

Auxiliary 24 Vdc Power Supply
The controller provides a voltage power supply of 24 Vdc to excite field transmitters with 25 mA current capacity.

Soft Start
The soft-start feature avoids abrupt variations in the power delivered to the load regardless of the system power demand. This is accomplished by defining a limiting ramp for the control output. The output is allowed to reach maximum value (100 %) only after the time programmed (in seconds) in the soft-start parameter has elapsed.

Ramp and Soak
The N2000 offers up to 7 programs with each program consisting of 7 segments.  You can link programs together to form one program with 49 different segments.

USB and RS485 Communications
The USB interface is used for CONFIGURING or MONITORING the controller. We provide NConfig sofware as a free download for the configurating the controller through the USB port. With NConfig you can create, view, save and open configurations from the controller or files in your computer. You can transfer configurations between different controllers and make backup copies of the configuration.  While connected to the USB interface, even if disconnected from the power supply, the configuration can be can be saved in a file and moved to other controllers.

The USB communications works best for configuration and short term monitoring since it is not isolated from the input signal. For long term monitoring the N2000 has optional RS485 communication interface which operates using Modbus RTU protocol.
