The Xi Series water-cooled housing lets your Xi infrared camera keep measuring reliably in high-temperature industrial environments that would otherwise overheat it. Engineered for ambient temperatures up to 250 °C, the stainless steel enclosure circulates cooling water around the camera to hold it within its safe operating range - making continuous thermal monitoring possible next to furnaces, kilns, foundries, and other hot processes.

Cooling for Hot Environments
Water cooling is what allows the camera to survive ambient heat far beyond its standalone rating. Cooling water from a user-supplied source - such as a chiller or water line - circulates through the housing's inlet and outlet ports, drawing heat away from the camera to prevent overheating. A flow rate of 1-5 liters per minute using water below 30 °C is recommended, holding the camera within its operating range for stable, accurate readings even in sustained high-heat conditions. The enclosure carries an IP67 environmental rating for protection against dust and water ingress.

Protection from Dust, Smoke, and Fumes
Beyond heat, the housing shields the camera from the contaminants common in industrial settings. It is compatible with shutter and air purge accessories, which keep the lens clear in environments with dust, smoke, or fumes - preventing buildup on the optics that would otherwise degrade measurement accuracy.

Construction and Mounting
Built from durable stainless steel, the housing measures 73.3 x 68 x ~166 mm and weighs 1480 g (1710 g with the mounting kit). The included mounting bracket allows precise positioning in two axes, so the camera can be aimed accurately at the target and locked securely in place.

What to Order With It
A few items are needed or recommended to put the housing into service. A matching mounting kit is required for water-cooling installation and should be ordered alongside the housing. A laminar air purge is recommended to prevent condensation on the lens. You will also need the appropriate camera cable - USB, Ethernet, or I/O - in the correct length and temperature range, fitted with the cable gland for the housing; without the correct cable and gland, the unit cannot be pre-assembled. The housing can also be combined with the Xi water-cooling shutter for additional lens protection. When the housing is purchased together with a compatible Xi camera, it can be factory-assembled with the camera and accessories; if you have questions about combining water cooling, air purge, and a shutter, our team can confirm the right configuration.
