LogBox Wi-Fi is an IoT device with integrated data logger and Wi-Fi connectivity. It allows monitoring and recording of data remotely, in facilities with Wi-Fi infrastructure. The data can be accessed remotely, wirelessly and centralized through SCADA application, cloud dashboard or by NXperience software. Easy installation and accessibility are highlights of this device.

The device has three universal analog inputs and one digital input, that can operate as counter of pulses (flow sensor) or recorder of events (opening/closing doors). LogBox Wi-Fi has MQTT protocol to publish data into IoT brokers, Cloud or SCADA system, as well as Modbus TCP protocol to operate as slave into SCADA systems.

The device provides uninterrupted recording of data, even in failures of power supply or wireless link, due to its 2-year autonomy backup battery. LogBox Wi-Fi can be used to comply with security requirements of FDA Regulation Title 21 CFR Part 11.

Universal Analog Inputs
The LogBox Wi-Fi can accept three analog input signals.  Each signal can be configured for thermocouple (J, K, T, E, N, R, S, and B), RTD (PT100), 0-50mV, 0-5Vdc,0-10Vdc, 0-20mA or 4-20mA.  These channels can also be configured to read the internal battery voltage or the external power supply voltage. The voltage/current channels can be programmed with linear scale factors to show readings in true engineering units.

Digital Input
LogBox WiFi has a digital input channel that can accept signals from PNP and NPN sensors or relays.  The relay input includes a programmable de-bounce time.  Through software the digital input can configured for Pulse Count, Event Log, or even for Log Control. This digital input can also be disabled.

Alarms/Digital Output
The LogBox WiFi has a PNP-type digital output which when triggered places the voltage from the external source to the digital output pin. The LogBox WiFi digital output can be disabled or configured to operate as either an Auxiliary Electronic Switch used to control the power supply of external instruments during analog channel readings, thus conserving the external power supply or as an alarm output that will trigger when any of the channels go into an alarm condition.

There is also an internal buzzer that can be set to generate an audible alert when an alarm condition occurs.

Data Logging
Logged data is stored into the LogBox WiFi's internal memory. The internal memory capacity is up to 140,000 logs.

The number of logs that can be stored in the internal memory depends on the number of input channels that are enabled. Recording the digital input will also impact the number of records which can be stored.

The logging speed is programmable from 1 second to 18 hours.
Logging all four channels at the maximum rate will allow just under 10 hours of data collection. Slowing the sample rate down to 5 minutes will allow for 4 months of data collection.

There are several ways to start and stop logging. Logging can be set to start immediately, on a specific date/time, by keyboard, by software control or via digital input.

Logging can be set to stop when memory is full,  on a specific date/time, by keyboard, by software control or via digital input.  The memory can also be set to circular mode in which case when the end of memory is reached logging will continue by overwriting the oldest record.

The data logging conforms to 21 CFR Part 11 which defines data security/integrity for recorded data used by the medical and pharmaceutical industry.

Display
LogBox WiFi has an LCD display with 3 numerical lines of 4 ½ digits to display the current value of all enabled channels as well as the minimum and maximum values. At the same time, it is possible to display the current value of up to 3 analog channels and, in a second screen, display the digital input current value.

Power
The LogBox WiFi may be powered by external power or 4 "AA" batteries.  External power should be 10 to 30Vdc with a minimum  current of 15mA. If a load is connected to the digital output, the power supply must provide enough current to support the load requirements.  When operated by batteries, it can operate for more than 2 years without needing to change batteries.

NXPerience Software
NXPerience is a free downloadable software for the LogBox Wi-Fi.  The standard NXPerience is for Windows computers and allows them to connect to the LogBox WiFi through a USB connection.  NXPerience Mobile is an App version for mobile devices.  There is a version for Android devices and a version for IOS devices.  The Android version may downloaded from the Google Play Store and the IOS version from the Apple App Store.

All versions of NXperience can be used for configuration, data collection and analysis and allows you to explore all the features and details of the device.

The NXperience is a comprehensive tool that enables graphical analysis, alarm processing, and exporting data to multiple formats. It also provides device-specific diagnostics and makes testing and troubleshooting easier.

Also, through NXperience you can create, manage an account and storage your data in NOVUS Cloud.

NOVUS Cloud IoT Platform(Free Starter Plan)
The NOVUS Cloud is an IoT platform solution for monitoring devices for process data online visualization. Ready-to-use with the LogBox WiFi and NOVUS smart IoT devices, it is the perfect choice for customers with low IT infrastructure or with requirements of unified data from multiple devices at multiple locations. The NOVUS Cloud can receive information of any kind from the IoT devices, store them in the cloud database and present the data in elegant dashboards. Operation or management staff can get online awareness about the process deviations through E-mail notifications, besides the online dashboard alarms. Hosted on cloud server, NOVUS Cloud is accessible worldwide on the internet from any computer or mobile device.
