Greenhouse Temperature and Humidity Monitoring

Maintaining stable temperature and humidity is critical for greenhouse health—and increasingly important for compliance with regulations like the FSMA Produce Safety Rule and state-level heat exposure standards. These cloud-connected monitoring solutions support environmental recordkeeping, preventive controls, and audit-ready documentation. Whether you're overseeing a single hoop house or a multi-zone facility, these scalable systems deliver the data you need to manage crop health and demonstrate compliance.

Below are two proven greenhouse monitoring bundles that combine robust sensors with long-range wireless gateways or built-in cellular connectivity. Not sure what’s right for your space? Reach out to IOThrifty—we’ll help you find the perfect match for your exact use case.

Climate Air+ Simple Installation with Cloud Monitoring

Climate Air Plus combines battery powered RHT Air+ sensors with the LoRa based AirGate gateway to deliver ±0.2 °C / ±1.5 %RH accuracy across sensor-to-gateway ranges up to 3 km (open field). Each sensor buffers up to 15,000 readings locally, while the gateway holds up to 480,000, so temporary connectivity issues won’t interrupt data collection. Sensors can calculate dew point and heat index on board, and the gateway pushes data securely via MQTT or Modbus TCP to Novus Cloud. The entire network supports up to 32 sensors per gateway, making it scalable for greenhouse layouts large or small.

Connect to Novus Cloud’s included free 1 year starter plan for dashboards, heat index or dew point tracking, email alerting, basic reporting, and data export. After the year ends you can upgrade from the Basic plan as needed.

GS1 - No WiFi Required

The GS1 industrial grade data logger includes an integrated display showing temperature and humidity readings directly on the device. It uploads data to a cloud platform that supports alerting, reporting, and historical visualization. The 4G version works over cellular networks, so there is no need for local WiFi. It also features onboard storage for up to 300,000 readings, ensuring data continuity during connectivity loss.

An optional leaf temperature and wetness sensor can be added to monitor actual leaf surface conditions. This sensor connects via RS485 and displays real-time data on the GS1 screen while syncing to the same cloud platform. Though not essential for all greenhouse applications, it provides added insight for growers focused on precise plant health metrics.
