Heat‑Seal & Shrink Tunnel Temperature Monitoring

Maintaining precise temperature control in heat-seal and shrink tunnels is critical for product quality, compliance (FDA, ISO, UL), and preventing seal failures or film damage. Touching moving film is often impractical or unsafe, so non-contact infrared sensors paired with data logging, alarm outputs, and cloud access offer an optimal solution.

Non Contact Measurement, Data Logging, Alarms and Cloud Monitoring

Use a fixed infrared temperature sensor to measure conveyor-borne film or packaging without contact. The PyroMini features an integrated display for live readings and feeds temperature data to a wireless LogBox Wi-Fi data logger. The logger offers optional digital alarm outputs for immediate over- or under-temperature alerts. Data can be streamed to Novus Cloud for dashboards, historical trends, and remote alarms. Novus Cloud includes a free one-year subscription.

Infrared Measurement for Applications Requiring Control

For setups needing precision control, pair an infrared PyroCouple temperature sensor with the modular N20K48 PID temperature controller. The controller displays live readings and automatically adjusts heating elements via PID control to maintain optimal seal or shrink temperatures. If you require data logging or cloud monitoring, the controller output can be fed into the LogBox Wi-Fi for real-time capture, alarms, and optional cloud access.

These solutions address crucial compliance angles such as consistent product sealing, avoidance of film degradation, traceable records for ISO or FDA audits, and configurable alarms for proactive process control. For installations with varying throughput, multiple zones, or integration with SCADA or MES systems, IOThrifty offers custom configurations and additional variations.

Please contact IOThrifty to discuss your specific tunnel setup such as number of zones, conveyor speed, film materials, and control network compatibility so we can recommend the best fitting combination of sensors, controllers, loggers, and cloud services.
